Job Title: Labourer – Roads and Cemetery
Remuneration: $22 to $24.75 hourly, based on qualifications and experience
The Township of Plummer Additional is seeking a person to fill the position of Labourer. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter that is able to follow directions to take on a wide range of tasks, some of which include:
•Assisting the Public Works department by repairing and maintaining equipment, assisting in various aspects of road maintenance, and general maintenance of the municipal buildings.
•Being responsible for the maintenance of the Township’s cemeteries and providing grave locations and digging for the interment of urns, as required.
•Any other duties relating to the Public Works and Cemetery operations as determined by past practices and policies of the Township Council.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
•Be physically able to do the work required
•Have six (6) months experience
•Have training or certification in the operation of specialized equipment including lawn mowers, weed cutters and hedge trimmers.
•Have WHIMIS and Flagging certification (an asset)
The position is offered as a full-time, fixed term contract with the possibility of longer-term employment for the right candidate. Full benefits are available at three (3) months and joining OMERS is optional. A full job description is available upon request.
