Algoma Public Health Message Regarding Masks

March 31, 2022

Algoma Public Health has noted that we are seeing an increase in the number of COVID cases within the population that are eligible to test (i.e. high risk settings). Our waste water surveillance is showing an increase in the viral load which indicates that COVID19 is still spreading around the communities.  With the recent removal of the masking requirement in “most” indoor settings and the removal of the vaccine certificate program, we want to remind residents to stay home when ill and continue to be respectful of each other during this time of change. A gentle reminder to mask if you have traveled, been a positive case or for personal choice, as we know some are eager to get back to normal activities but need a gentle reminder of the requirements to keep themselves and others safe.
