Q: Who can I ask about things I don’t understand about waste disposal and recycling?
A: You can call Green For Life (GFL) at 1 (800) 430-7778 to obtain additional information on waste disposal and recycling. The Township Office can also provide more information if needed, as well as by clicking on the link below:

Waste Collection
Q: Where do I get a Blue Box?
A: Plastic Blue Boxes for Curbside Recycling are available at The Township Office. The 1st Blue Box is free; there is a $10.00 + HST charge for each additional box needed.
Q: If my garbage & recycling does not get picked up, what is the reason?
A: Garbage will not be picked up if it is not placed in clear garbage bags. Also, garbage will not be picked up if the waste management technician observes that there are recyclable materials in the garbage. It is the responsibility of the property owner to clean up any debris from damaged garbage bags caused by wildlife.
Q: Is the Clear Bag Policy still in effect?
A: Yes, the clear bag policy is in effect. If garbage is not placed loosely in clear garbage bags, it will not be picked up on garbage day.

Q: Where is the Landfill site? And when is it open to the public?
A: Tri-Neighbors Waste Management Site at 1314 Eastline Rd in Rose Township.
Open – Saturday only
- Summer hours 9 am – 5 pm (April 1st – November 30th)
- Winter hours 11 am – 3 pm (Dec 1st – March 31st)
Note:
Q: Where can I dispose of Special household waste?
A: Household Special Waste is not accepted at the Tri-neighbours landfill site and must be brought to the HSW depot located at 115 Industrial Park Cresent in Sault Ste Marie. Tri-neighbours access cards will be required to enter the HSW depot. The access cards are available at the Township office.
They accept:
- Acids
- Aerosols (spray paint, hair spray)
- Antifreeze
- Bases (Cleaning Solutions, etc)
- Batteries (Automotive and Household)
- Fire Extinguishers
- Flammables (Cleaning Solvents)
- Oil
- Oil Filters
- Oxidizers (Chlorine, Fertilizer)
- Paint
- Pesticides
Note: The Bruce Mines Transfer site no longer accepts brush from Plummer Additional ratepayers. You can take brush to the Tri-Neighbours Site at 1314 East Line Road (Saturdays 9-5) and at the Thessalon Transfer Site (Fridays 3-7).

Q: Is battery recycling available?
A: Battery recycling program has started in Plummer Additional. You can deposit household batteries such as A, AA, B, C, D, 9-volt, button, computer batteries and more in containers located at the Township Office, Landfill Site or the Library. Please no vehicle batteries.
