RESIDENT NOTICE: RESPONSIBLE USE OF GARBAGE BINS AT THE CORNER OF AHO & CENTRE LINE ROADS

Dear Resident,

The Township would like to remind all residents using the garbage bins located at the corner of AHO Road and Centre Line Road to dispose of their waste responsibly.

Recently, the bins have been filled beyond their capacity, and garbage bags have been left on the ground beside the containers. This creates an unsightly condition and attracts wildlife, which poses a health and safety concern for the surrounding area.

The Township has also observed that large household items, including furniture, have been left at this location. These bins are intended for regular household garbage only and are not designed to accept bulky items. Furniture and other oversized waste must be taken directly to the Township Landfill for proper disposal.

We would also like to remind residents that cardboard is a recyclable material and should not be placed in the garbage bins. Cardboard recycling is available at the Township Landfill Site and should be taken there for proper recycling. Keeping recyclable materials out of the garbage bins will help ensure there is adequate space for household waste.

We ask all residents to:

• Place garbage inside the bins only.
• Do not leave garbage bags or other waste on the ground if the bins are full.
• Do not leave furniture or other bulky items at the bin location.
• Take cardboard and other recyclable materials to the Township Landfill for recycling.
• If the bins are full, please hold your garbage until there is space available or dispose of it at the Township Landfill during regular operating hours. Wednesday 3:00pm to 7:00pm – Saturday 9:00 to 5:00pm (April1 – November 30)

Your cooperation is essential to keeping this area clean and preventing problems with wildlife.

Please be advised that if the ongoing misuse of these garbage bins continues, the Township will have no choice but to remove the bins from this location. Residents would then be required to dispose of all household garbage, recyclable materials, and bulky items directly at the Township Landfill Site.

In addition, any person found illegally dumping garbage, leaving waste outside the bins, or disposing of unauthorized materials such as furniture may be subject to enforcement action under the Township’s applicable by-laws. Fines can and will be imposed on individuals who fail to comply with these requirements.
