UPCOMING EVENTS

Happy 2024 Everyone,

We are so pleased to announce that the Great Waterfront Trail Adventure (GWTA) returns to Northern Ontario in 2024…by popular demand!

In 2019, we celebrated and launched the expansion of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail/Trans Canada Trail between Sault Ste Marie and Sudbury with our popular fully supported cycle tour. Participants from around Canada, the US, and most from Southern Ontario, loved what they experienced. Ever since, there has been a call to return to Northern Ontario.

There have been some changes to the GWTA since  2019. The most striking is that most participants now select hotels over camping for their accommodations. In response, we have included some nights with two overnight locations. Doing so increases available hotel rooms.

The itinerary listing overnights follows this note.

We want to do our best to ensure everyone gets a feel for the warm hospitality and rich heritage of all the communities along the Lake Huron North Channel. We have begun speaking with overnight hosts and will begin to arrange meetings with other communities to explore options for community-hosted rest and lunch stops in the coming weeks.
