The Township of Plummer Additional benefits from its advantageous position along the Highway 17 corridor. Highway 17 generates tourism and commercial activity for the Township and provides immediate access to larger communities.
The decline in mining and forestry activities has resulted in agriculture and farming as the prime component of the economic base for the Township. Currently there are approximately 45 farms operating in the area. The Township of Plummer Additional remains committed to preserving its rural heritage and maintaining this source of its economic base. Lastly, due to its rural nature, the Township depends on other urban centres for its major commercial and community services.
