Who can vote?

Eligible voters for municipal elections must be: 

  • A Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old
  • A resident OR a property owner or tenant OR the spouse of an owner or tenant in the Township of Plummer Additional
Who can be a candidate?

Eligible candidates for municipal elections must be:

  • A Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old 
  • A resident of Plummer Township, a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such non-resident owner or tenant
  • Not legally prohibited from voting; and not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office.  Candidates are also required to pay a fee of $100 ($200 for head of council) and those running in municipalities with more than 4,000 electors are also required to obtain 25 endorsement signatures when they submit their nomination.
Who cannot vote?
  • Serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution
  • Corporations
  • Acting as executor or trustee or in another representative capacity, except as a voting proxy
  • Convicted of a corrupt practice described in Section 90(3) of the Municipal Elections Act

For municipal elections on October 26, contact your municipality to update or add your information to the voters list.

From September 1 to October 26, 2026, you can check whether you are on the Voters’ List and submit an Application to Amend the Voters’ List to update your information, add or remove your name, or request the removal of a deceased elector.

An Application to Amend the Voters’ List may be submitted in person at the Township of Plummer Additional Municipal Office or by attending the Election Day voting location at the Bruce Station Community Hall, 109 Station Road.

Voting will be in-person on October 26, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bruce Station Community Hall, 109 Station Road.

*NEW* Mail-in ballots provide an alternate voting method. Eligible voters who wish to vote by mail will be required to complete a registration form and provide identification. The last day to submit a registration form is October 5, 2026. Mail-in ballot kits will be mailed from September 11, 2026 to October 7, 2026.

*Mail-in ballots must be received no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.   Please click on the the “Mail-In Ballot Procedures” section below for further information.

There will be no advance poll or proxy voting.

Important

Please fill out this application completely. Each voter must fill out a separate form. Another resident in your household may use the form on the back. Additional forms are available at www.plummertownship.ca, the Township office or by email request.

A copy of your driver’s licence or other valid identification which has your signature must accompany the completed application.

Your mail-in ballot MUST be received by 8:00 PM on Election Day October 26th. The Clerk or agents are not responsible for the non-delivery or non-receipt of forms or mail-in ballots, notwithstanding that, every reasonable effort will be made to assist voters in this process.

On Election Day, the Clerk will declare the unofficial results. Results will be shared on the Municipal website as soon as possible once the voting period closes.

FIRE BURN BAN NOTICE:

A Fire Ban has been enacted for the Municipality of Bruce Mines and Plummer Additional effective June 3rd, 2026 at 7:03 p.m.  The Fire Ban is in effect until further notice.

NO open air burning is permitted, including fireworks.
